This place is obviously an older park that has been allowed to decay, road into it was paved at some point in the past, but has so many pot holes, that going back to gravel would be smoother. The staff is friendly & helpfull. The interior roads are very narrow dirt & gravel, with patches of old black top remaining. The pull throughs are hard to get into & mostly unlevel, some need to have trees removed for easier entry & exit. They have a nice stocked lake/pond. This place has a ton of potential, off the beaten path & very quiet. It is obvious that the new owners have done some work on the place, but have a Lot more to go.

We had a beautiful waterfront site, with water & electric, as many are. The bathrooms & showers were clean & funtional. The roads into this out of the way park, are an experience in themselves, but no problem if you take your time, many hairpin curves, just watch out for the Crazy garbage truck driver, who nearly took us out on one of the 15 mph turns at over 50. This park should be rated at 10, but because the folks that have the current contract aren't real big on grounds maintenance, grass hasn't been mowed for at least 3-4 weeks, great for ticks & chiggers, also don't seem to be up on rules enforcement, as we observed teenagers swimming in unautorized areas, dogs not only Not on a 6 ft. leash, (one was on a 20ft leash), but also watched the attendant drive by one man with his dog not on a leash at all, and just wave at him.

This park has the appearance of an older campground, narrow, dirt & gravel roads, pull throughs are short, in order not to unhook the toad, I had to pull ahead, off the front of the pad, which then took a lot of leveling, trees are nice, but actually too many, couldn't put the awning out because of a tree, but with all the shade, it was not a big deal. Cable worked good, Wi-Fi worked, but a little slow. It's actually not a bad place for the price, $17 on Passport America. We will use it again for a short stay if in the area again.

This is an excellent COE park, with spacious, relatively level sites, our waterfront site was especially nice. While it is generally not rated for "Big Rigs", we did see several larger Class A rigs, and one larger 5th wheel, pulled by a Kenworth tractor. The bathrooms & showers were clean and in good order. The road to the park, Rt 822, is like trying to drive 5 mi. on a snakes back, very hilly, and very curvy. Also, the interior roads are narrow & curvy, at one point goint to C Loop, you must negotiate a 180 degree turn on a hill, but I watched a 39ft Class A with toad, do it without a problem, so you should have no trouble with it. As previosly mentioned, B Loop is for tents, we drove through with the car, & the sites looked small. The folks, running the park were very friendly & helpfull. The weather was totally against us on this visit, but we will go back.

This is one of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed at. A wooded, family park, quiet and relaxing. Lots of vineyards & orchards in the area, and close to Charlottesville. Most roads were paved, and sites are gravel, and fairly level. A small stream runs through it, and two small ponds. The owners were friendly & helpful, we will stay here again.

Owner was friendly and courteous. It was obvious that there has been a lot of work done as the web site indicates, showers/bathrooms were old but clean & functional. This place has a quiet and relaxing, family atmosphere, definitely, not a party zone. Close to Mammoth Cave and other places of interest. We would definitely recommend it, and would stay here again.

If you're looking for a concrete parking lot, you may want to try somewhere else, if you like trees, this is your place. This place is in the woods and more like camping in a National Forest, it does have water and electric, but no sewer hook-ups, but it does have a dump station & a pump truck available, sites are a little on the short side for the big rigs, but our 30 ft. class C / with toad fit just fine. The showers and bathrooms were clean, but need more of them. The owners were friendly & helpful, & we would stay here again.

This is an Escapee Park. We only stayed here one night, but were very pleased. The bathrooms & showers were very clean, and heated, which was great, as the temperature was around 16. The Staff were courteous and friendly, the park looked well maintained, and clean. This used to be a KOA, which is probably why the spaces were a little close, but, as it was the off season, it was not crowded at all. Would probably rate it higher if we were there longer, but if in the area again, We will certainly stay here again. We paid a slightly higher rate, as we had two extra people, and cable, but were pleased with the non-member rate.
